Berry Danishes [Recipe]

Oh, breakfast food. How I love you!

Today I'm sharing a delicious little breakfast delight that I have just come to love. It is quick, fast, and best of all, scrumptious!

Ingredients:
-puff pastry sheet
-case of Strawberries, washed + cut
-case of Blueberries, washed
-brick of cream cheese
-1/2 T cinnamon
-2 T sugar
-dash of nutmeg (if desired)

Preheat oven to 375*. Wash berries, cut the strawberries into slices, and set aside.
In a small bowl, blend cream cheese, cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg with a hand mixer.

Roll out the puff pastry dough and cut into 4 equal sections. Using a pair of kitchen scissors, cut the long sides of the puff pastry into 1/2" long strips.

Spread the cream cheese mixture onto the puff pastry. Sprinkle berries on top of the cream cheese. Sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar onto the top.

To fold the pastries:
Take one of the cut strips, slightly stretch the strip so that it fits all the way over the berries. Then take a strip from the opposite side and, again slightly stretching the strip, cross the strip over the first. Continue this process until all the strips have been used. Pinch the two sides closed.

I like to brush the top of mine with a bit of melted butter. I then sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the top. Completely optional, but delicious!

Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and slightly golden brown. Let them cool on the pan or enjoy while they are hot!

Voila! Look at you, fancy danish baker.

Enjoy!
